The Department of International Cooperation focuses on the development of international cooperation and the rule of law in the public policy of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

The Department of International Cooperation carries out its activities on the basis of the Constitution of Turkmenistan, decrees and orders of the President of Turkmenistan, resolutions of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, orders and resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and orders and instructions of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

The Department for International Cooperation is coordinating with other departments of the Ministry to address issues related to international cooperation in the field of education.

Turkmenistan is actively cooperating with higher education institutions of other countries in higher education and other educational institutions of the country by expanding international cooperation in the field of development of the education system and training of highly qualified specialists, active participation in the world educational space.

Maintains an account of Turkmen citizens studying abroad by the Government of Turkmenistan. It also keeps in touch with their vocational schools and embassies in Turkmenistan about their studies and procedures.
